What Is PADJACK?
PadJack is a RJ45 lock down used to physically restrict access to an exposed network jack or port. It is a quick and inexpensive layer of physical network security that can help aid in meeting PCI credit card and HIPAA HITECH Compliance laws. While there are extensive software programs to protect a network from security attacks, PadJack physically restricts an unauthorized user with an endpoint device from gaining access to a network through an exposed jack. Data loss prevention is one of the most critical issues facing organizations. Hospitals and medical facilities which are under strict scrutiny of the regulations and compliances of HIPAA HITECH, banks and financial institutions protecting private financial data, CPA firms, casinos, hotels, legal offices and military facilities are all at risk of internal security breaches. There are exposed network ports throughout organizations, increasing the risks of internal network breaches and data theft. This device simply "stops them at the jack." When a PadJack is placed in an open jack or network port, it locks in place, blocking access from an endpoint user. PadJack provides a cost effective data loss prevention solution that helps proactively reduce or prevent internal network breaches. It is an extra layer of network security - at the physical level. As with all security defenses, reinforcing layers provide the best protection. |
